15 minutes with an iPad.

My niece just got an iPad for her birthday. She’s absolutely over the moon with her new toy, and is reveling in the near-celebrity status that comes with being an iPad owner on the weekend of its Canadian release.

But what does her freedom-loving uncle make of it?

My QNAP NAS: One week later.

It’s been a week since I took my QNAP NAS out of the box and powered it up. Things weren’t going well at first, but I’m happy to report that the PEBKAC issue has been addressed.

My requirements for a photo manager are fairly meagre — all I really need to do is:

1. Organize photos into separate catalogs;
2. Rotate them as needed and have the results saved;
3. View a variety of file types, specifically PNG and Camera RAW.

Here then, are three contenders that I tested on my Linux Mint install…
