A grab from MKBHD’s “unboxing” on Periscope… Spoiler alert. 😛
So some more details about the OnePlus 2 have been revealed, and YouTuber Marques Brownlee actually has a preproduction unit in his hands right now. Since I’m leaving for my summer vacation tomorrow, and since I’ve already written about two other devices with unlockable bootloaders this week, today I’ll share the latest on what might turn out to be the most affordable one of the lot.
Here’s MKBHD’s review of the OnePlus 2 camera, with an f/2.0 aperture, laser autofocus but no OIS. His final grade: B+ to A-. You can find a collection of unedited photos in this Google+ gallery.
Improved Invite System
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei wrote a blog yesterday about the improved purchasing experience for the new phone. The big news is that, at launch, there will be much more stock available than last time—thirty to fifty times as many units was the specific number cited.
Finally, some breaking news this morning… CEO Pete Lau has just revealed on Weibo that the OnePlus 2 will have dual SIM support. This will be a good differentiator from the Nexus phones coming later this year; so long as they’re sold through carriers you will never see a Nexus with dual SIMs.
If there’s more OnePlus hype that drops while I’m away—and there probably will be—feel free to share it below…
