Had this movie been made about the United States Dan Matthews might well be a household name by now. But as it was made in and about Cana-duh I shouldn’t feel so bad that it’s taken me more than a year to find it.
Produced in 2009, Oh Canada – Our Bought And Sold Out Land is really two documentaries in one: Part one deals with our national debt, wherein our host (aka Dan) asks why it’s being managed by private banks rather than the Bank of Canada — this entirely reasonable question proves too much for the likes of former Finance and Prime Minister Paul Martin to answer. The second half goes even further and exposes Canada’s ties to the IMF and the infamous Bilderberg Group.
