#N97minitour, Montreal wrap-up.

Okay, so today I’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is that there will probably be only three posts this week — one from each of the three stops on our tour. The good news is that I’m having an absolute blast!

Here then are my highlights from Montreal…

It was great getting reacquainted with Simon on the short flight from Toronto, but as you’ll see in the video above, the big deal for yours truly (maybe both of us?) was finally getting to meet the man, the myth, the legend — Mr. James Whatley.

He was definitely in his element as the host of the inaugural Mobile Geeks of Montreal meet-up, but combining his relentless thirst for fun with CT Moore‘s local savvy made for the kind of late night shenanigans that I can’t really write about here. Sorry.

I’m not gonna lie to you — Saturday started out a little rough. We were all fairly hungover from the night before, and weren’t exactly stoked about the planned afternoon of riding roller coasters at La Ronde. Mother nature ended up showing us some mercy by opening up the clouds for a torrential downpour that saw us retreating back to our hotel for some much-needed rest.

Oh, and this made us feel better too:

Holy shitballs.. #n97minitour

After the show we hung out with Benoit and Ludovic, who had won tickets to the show at Mobile Geeks the night before. It turns out they’re not actually from Quebec, but France. No matter, mobile phone fandom is a worldwide phenomenon.

After a photo challenge on the F1 circuit it was back to La Ronde. I think I can say with a fair amount of confidence that I twice made mobile video history there — first with a N97mini review delivered from the Super Manège (which James shot and will hopefully post soon) and then with this first-ever Qik stream from Le Monstre:

The roller coaster is an apt metaphor for this #N97minitour — it too is a helluva wild ride, and I’m not in any kind of hurry for it to end.

Next stop: Ottawa…
